Guilin Taijiquan Association in Helsinki has a very close relationship to The International Taiji Association of China, The Guilin Chen Taijiquan Branch where Master Liu was engaged as the chairman before moving to Finland in August 2002 and accepting the duties of the chief instructor in the Guilin Taijiquan Association in Helsinki. Master Liu was teaching in Helsinki until the end of 2009 when he returned back to Guilin. After that he is making regular trips to Helsinki to further instruct his Finnish taiji students. The relations to Guilin are further strengthened through regular contacts and training trips to Guilin. Direct contacts to Grand Master Ma Hong and his most advanced diciples in Guilin and elsewhere in China are very important for us.
During the training trip to Guilin in July 2006 Ma Hong held 5 two-hour lectures on Chen taiji in general and the Yilu form in particular. Ma Hong also participated in the practical training sessions in the park. A summary of these lectures is available to all the members of Guilin Taijiquan Association.
In July 2007 the second training trip to Guilin was made. During this trip we were mainly training in Qi Xing park together with the Guilin taiji practitioners. Taiji master from Changsha, professor Zhou Jishi was also teaching together with master Liu and the local Guilin teachers. In summer 2009 a third 2-week training trip to Guilin was again organised. In 2008 no such trip was arranged since professor Zhou Jishi from Changsha was visiting Helsinki as the guest of Guilin Taijiquan Association then.
Information of the Guilin branch of the China International Chen Taijiquan Association can be found in this link (The link does not always work). These pages (in the Chinese language) show a lot of photographs on our training trips to Guilin in years 2006 and 2007 .
