History of the Association

The organization meeting of the Guilin Taijiquan association was held on the 30th of May 2005. In the practice the association started its operation on the 1st of September 2005. It continued the operation of the firm Guilin Taijiquan that was founded on the 17th of January 2002.

The name of the association refers to the original Che taiji style developed by Chen Fake and Chen Zhaokui and represented and promoted by Ma Hong. This Chen style is widely practiced in Guilin among other areas in China. The name of the association also refers to the close relationships and co-operation with The International Taiji Association of China, The Guilin Chen Taijiquan Branch.

The purpose of the Association

The purpose of the Guilin Taijiquan association is to promote the pursuit of taiji of its members and to increase the knowledge on taiji in Finland. The main mission of Guilin Taijiquan is to teach and coach Chen taiji style represented and promoted by grand master Ma Hong. Yang style, sword, broad sword, taiji fan, and other taiji skills are also included in the training program.
