Liu Shaohua

Liu Shaohua (1958 -) is the disciple of Ma Hong. He was born in the city of Guilin in the Guangxi province of China and represents the 20th generation of Chen style Taijiquan.

In 7 years age Liu Shaohua started the Yang style training under the guidance of his father. When he was young, he practiced several aspects of wushu and started serious Chen style training in 1985. In 1993 he won in Nanchang the Chen style championship in the most important wushu contest of China

In August 2002 he moved to Finland and until the end of year 2009 he acted there as the chief instructor of taiji in Guilin Taijiquan Association. At the end of year 2009 he moved back to Guilin and returns back to Finland every now and then to give further instructions to his Finnish students.Liu Shaohua masters both Yang and Chen styles and teaches, in addition, Chen and Yang sword, Chen saber (broadsword), taiji fan, chikong and other taiji-related skills.

Before moving to Finland Liu Shaohua was the chairman of The International Taiji Association of China, The Guilin Chen Taijiquan Branch. He has operated as a judge in national and international taiji competitions in China. He is also a trained masseur and a specialist in acupuncture treatment.
